On January 28, 2026, the Department of Technical Physics and Thermal Power Engineering held a defense of the master's thesis in the educational program "Technical Physics." Master's student Nurgasyr Zhienbaev presented the thesis on the topic "The experimental design of nuclear reactors in the nuclear industry." Scientific advisers were Nurzhan Erolovich Mukhamedov (PhD, Associate Professor, Head of the Reactor Device Development and Testing Department of the Institute of Atomic Energy Branch of the National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan) and Nurlan Amangeldі (Associate Professor of the International Department of Nuclear Physics, New Materials and Technologies of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU, Head of the Nuclear Physics Laboratory of the INP Astana Branch). The State Certification Committee was chaired by Galina Anatolyevna Vityuk (Head of the Reactor Fuel Testing Laboratory, Institute of Atomic Energy, branch of the National Nuclear Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan). The dissertation received high marks from the committee, and the master's student provided comprehensive answers to all questions. Reviewer Saule Kianbekovna Abildinova (Professor, Department of Thermal Power Engineering and Physics, NAO "Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after A.N. Daukeev") commended the work for its high quality.
