On November 28, 2025, the regional Chemistry Olympiad named after Professor M.G. Yashkarova was organized by the School of Physics and Chemistry Research and the Department of Chemistry and Ecology of “Shakarim University” NJSC.

A total of 51 schools from the Abai region took part in the Olympiad. Active participation was shown by educational institutions from the cities of Kurchatov and Ayagoz, as well as from Zharma, Beskaragai, and Zhana-Semei districts.

According to the results of the Olympiad, the following students demonstrated outstanding performance:

For the 11th grade track, the winner of the university’s one-year educational grant is Kaliasqar Bekbolat, a student of the “Jas Abay” school;

1st place among 11th graders – Baiybotayev Nuraly, a student of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Semey;

1st place among 10th graders – Ivan Osadchiy, a student of the Economic Lyceum, and Dina Alieva, a student of Gymnasium No. 6.

The Olympiad made a valuable contribution to identifying talented students of the region and motivating them towards scientific pursuits. The university expresses its gratitude to all participants and their supervisors for taking part in the event.
