Scientific Collaboration with a Polish Professor

⚜️ As part of an academic exchange, Joanna Cerazy-Waliszewska, an associate professor from the Plant Genetics Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences, arrived for a month-long visit to the Department of Chemistry and Ecology at the Research School of Physics and Chemistry.

🔹 During her visit, Professor Joanna will share her scientific expertise with the department's faculty and students. In her first lecture, she provided an overview of European education and science, detailing the research directions and opportunities for scientific projects in Western institutions.

🔹 She also discussed her ongoing research project, which focuses on the impact of the toxic metal arsenic on the plant miscanthus. Her choice of topic stems from an ecological issue in her home country, Poland, where certain regions face arsenic contamination. The research aims to assess the effects of arsenic on the environment, plants, and living organisms.

🔹 Over the coming weeks, Joanna plans to deliver lectures covering topics such as:

  • Publishing scientific articles in international peer-reviewed journals.
  • Key aspects of writing scientific projects.
  • Current scientific trends and directions.

⚜️ The Polish professor expressed her openness to scientific partnerships and her readiness to collaborate on future joint projects.
